Class Three

Welcome to Class 3

Class 3 is a large and welcoming classroom. In our class we have children in Year 2 and Year 3. Everyone in there works hard to make it a positive environment and the children also work hard to be good friends and do their best learning. The adults who work in Class 3 are: Mrs Mariner (teaching assistant) and myself Mrs Watts (class teacher).

Class 3_1

In Class 3 we look to provide the children with a wide range of creative learning opportunities where we can experience real life challenges and hands on activities. Now we are living in post COVID times we are especially looking forward to participating in some educational visits which will be organised in line with an area of the curriculum that we are studying. These may include visiting places such as museums, nature and wildlife areas, zoos and theatres. We really enjoy participating in cross curricular learning where interaction between different subjects can be encouraged. This year some of our learning includes;

  • Looking at materials, animals and plants. (Science)
  • Asking questions such as; Where in the world am I? Where do penguins live? (Geography)
  • Finding out about some explorers and investigating ideas such as; the earth being flat and the edge of the universe. We also plan to learn about the recent discovery of the HMS Gloucester. (History)
Class 3_2

I love teaching in Class 3 and am always amazed at how much the children grow up during the time they spend in there. When I am not teaching though, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going for long walks, reading and baking.
